Mahvish Hussain’s culinary journey began in her childhood, surrounded by the rich aromas and flavors of home-cooked meals. Inspired by her mother’s passion for family gatherings and food, she developed an early enthusiasm for cooking.
After high school, Mahvish traveled across Europe and South Asia immersing herself in diverse cuisines and discovering her passion for blending flavors in unique and creative ways then joined International Institute of Culinary Arts, New Delhi (IICA) She later earned a postgraduate degree from the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants Lahore (ICMA) and spent a decade working in corporate catering, refining her expertise in high-quality large-scale food service.
Driven by a Vision to bring Authentic and Innovative South Asian cuisine to a broader audience, Mahvish Founded DESI KHANA NYC. A Virtual Restaurant & Corporate Catering Service specializing in Drop-Off Meals and Event Catering. Rooted in tradition yet infused with modern flavors, her recipes reflect a deep respect for culinary heritage while embracing creativity and elegance. With over a decade of experience in New York’s dynamic food scene, Mahvish remains committed to excellence, ensuring that great Food is accessible at fair prices.
